Throes of Absolution tracks

To what end will our foolish ways lead?
Shall we be consumed by Your holy wrath
And reap our deserved fate?
O' my God, come down in power,
Engulf this man in the cleansing winds
Of Your unceasing mercy.
Let adoration rise within me;
Liberate Your creation.

Who is a God like You,
Pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression
For the remnant of His inheritance?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in steadfast love.
He will tread our iniquities underfoot.

You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea,
As You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

Did you think it was fruit that brought the fall
The deception of an outside hand
The decision of a malevolent god

This curse is not a curse
This legacy of sin
Is all just a reaction
This bane of our humanity
Is our humanity itself

Blame the plague
Fuel the detractors of the cure
If this is a curse from a god
Then what morality is there in worship

This is us
There is no sin
There is only man
We can only hurt
We can only steal
We can only cheat
We can only kill
(When there is no celestial provider)

Forsaken a benevolent creator
Reaping what we have truly earned
We are not afflicted
We are merely on our own

There is no magic infecting your soul
There is only what you have done
We have hurt to survive
We have lied to reach respite
We are the consequences
Of our human weakness
And our damnation is our own

Growing tired of the void
Sickened by the concept of relinquishing autonomy
The path to enlightenment inclines
Constantly, never giving way to respite
There is no meadow of regeneration

The is The Hill Difficulty
This is the Mount of Worth
There is no spiral path to the summit
There is no other existential meaning
Greater than the view from the peak

The higher I ascend,
The more vague the foundation becomes
The higher I ascend,
The greater my view of the cities I left behind

O' God of Obscurity,
deliver me into brilliance
Bathe me in the light of the outer-truth
Give me the perception of the Saints and the Exorcists
Carry me to the Summit of Infinity

No voice from the heavens to reply
No hand of the Host to seize me
Only a whisper in the Gale
Ambiguous, but so real
("The greatest struggle begets the greatest catharsis")

Within the throes of absolution
I shed my humanity
I rise beyond angles to the company of Saints

Time and time again, I have tasted defeat.
The works of my hands disgrace Your name.
But yet I still depend on your feeble mind.
Overhead a dark cloud covers the sky.
Breeding this pain that will consume my life.
Pushing onward without You.
Stagnant cycle repeats.
Choke the air, kill the man.

Each step I take in Your name gives birth to a new life.
Every step alone brings pain tenfold.
Forgive me.
In Your perfect love, I am made complete.
Pour out Your mercy.

At the foot of the hills,
I strain to see what lies ahead.
My own hand blind my eyes.
My soul longs to scale this mountainside,
but my body fails to continue.
Fearing this plague that I have born,
I cower to hide form the light.
Back into the mire,
crawling deep inside the dim embrace of my delusive savior.
The wolves of my addiction are unleashed.
Tear through my flesh and shatter my bones,
This body is nothing.

Upon this mount strikes a mighty hand.
The heavens open up,
into Your hands I am risen.
Pulled away, this poison is purged.

Though the enemy will scheme to bring eternal destruction, it is in Christ alone that I have been set free.

Seeking something beyond the stars
Irreverent to laws and restrictions

I've seen the darkness
I know it's there
I don't care how it bends the light

The point is that the light exists

This light has a strange nature
This light doesn't care what I think
This light will carry me to the truth
All I care about is knowing what that means

You can call it God
Call it an anomaly

I don't know how it functions
All I know is what I've seen

I am not a teacher
I am in nobody's crusade
I am just a seeker
Fighting in this war against obscurity

And I'm not seeking a defense
Some kind of apologetic ammunition
I don't need the discourse of dogma against angst
This is not a showcase of intellect or rebellion

This is the battle for perception
This is the struggle of knowing the truth
This is what happens when
I can no longer only trust myself
Let alone put my faith in you

Save me, O God, for the water have come up to my neck.
I sink in the miry depths,
Where there is no foothold.
I have come into the deep waters;
The floods engulf me.
Fear and trembling have beset me,
Horror has overwhelmed me.
I am worn out calling for help,
My throat is parched.
My heart is in anguish with me;
The terrors of death assail me.

Many are my enemies without cause;
Those who seek to destroy me.
They sharpen their tongues like swords,
And aim their words like deadly arrows.
When they draw the bow,
Let their arrows be blunted.
O Lord, how many are my foes!
But You are a shield around me,
O Lord; You bestow glory on me.

I cry aloud, and He answers me.
I will not fear the tens of thousands
Drawn up against me.

How can we justify this selfishness?
Is it not us who continue to kiss His cheek?
Don't shun responsibility and cast the blame upon others.
Spineless decisions are symptomatic of a greater infirmity.

Nation unified,
Now cursed and divided.
Blind hate bombards every side.

For the day of the Lord will come
Like a thief in the night.
God has not destined for us wrath, but salvation.

Desolation fills the earth,
These are the final days.
Prepare for the coming of the risen Lamb.
Die to yourself, renovate your heart.
