Donation For Seriously Ill Children
The organizers of the Summer Breeze Open Airs have passed a few days ago, with a donation check on 2842,71 euros to the “action sailing taxi” – an Initiative that is aimed at families with seriously ill children.
This sum comes from donations from the festival-goers – any local resident who is older than 45, will receive free admission to Summer Breeze and is asked in return for a small donation for the good purpose. On the last SUMMER BREEZE, the stately sum of more than 2800 Euro came to be, which has now been presented by organizers Achim Ostertag to the project initiator Lothar Schiele and action godfather “Flex”.
The “action sailing taxi” organizes boat trips where affected families can enjoy a week of sun and sea and light-hearted feel release. During this time, you will be supervised by educators from the children's hospice service Aalen professionally.
The idea for this arose out of a personal fate: In January 2003, ill Lothar Schiele's son Hannes leukemia. On his fourth birthday he began his first chemotherapy. Neither you nor the two transplants, and other treatments later, were able to heal him, however. Hannes died in August 2008 at the age of only nine and a half years. During his lifetime, Hannes a great Passion: water sports. A dedicated sailing teacher met Hannes, finally, his last dream to learn to sail. The idea for the “action sailing taxi” was on Hannes’ Initiative – with only seven years of age, he founded his own company, and thus laid the Foundation for the action that comes with many other children.
“For us, the project and the commitment behind it has fascinated immediately,” organizers Achim Ostertag. “We decided without Hesitation in favour of donations to the action for the benefit of, and are now pleased to be able to with the amount of money will help.”
