Guitarist John Cummings Left The Band

After 17 years, a stable occupation, the Post announced-Rock pioneers MOGWAI last Sunday, the separation of long-time guitarist John Cummings. Cummings wanted to focus in future on their own musical projects.

In order for the core cast to Stuart Braithwaite, Barry Burns, Dominic Aitchison and Martin Bulloch remains in the future. As a Live guitarist is the first step in Scott Paterson, former guitarist of Scottish Indie Band SONS AND DAUGHTERS,. Also, the long-time Live musician Luke Sutherland will take over in addition to violin, Percussion, and vocals in the future, some of the guitar parts.

MOGWAIs so far last Studio album “Rave Tapes” (2014) contains two of Cummings composed pieces. In addition, his voice on “Boring Machines Disturbs Sleep” (“Happy Songs for Happy People”, 2004), one of the few not to listen instrumental Songs of the troupe.

Cummings’ twenty year with MOGWAI, among others, on the recently released Best-of Compilations “Central Belters” selected. Thus, it is the last Release with the participation of John Cummings.
